CNC Mill/Turn Machines are multi-tasking, multi-function CNC machines that are used to create complex workpieces in a single operation. These machines can turn a workpiece while also performing rotating tooling operations such as cross-drilling, tapping, slotting, and milling. A part that requires multiple operations can be machined in a single setup, especially if a sub-spindle allows the part to be passed from one spindle to another during machining, essentially machining two parts at the same time. All of these processes combined in a single cycle allow for faster part production, higher accuracy (no re-chucking), and shorter set-up times. Furthermore, the machine can be used to produce parts with complex geometry that would be difficult or impossible to produce using traditional machining methods. As a result, turning and milling machines have become indispensable to many manufacturers.
